The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
The Challenge
The client wanted a coating system with low to “0” VOCs for use inside the new primary HVAC system. The new design of the duct system had two walls consisting of the concrete wall and ceiling and the other two walls were made up of the metal duct work. The concrete was “dusting” moving the dust throughout the duct system. They needed a coating system to stabilize the concrete and provide a long term solution to this problem.

The Solution
The ECI encasement/waterproofing system was chosen. The FiberTech F-50 Penetrating Stabilizer Primer was applied at 14 mils to stabilize the concrete surface followed by the FiberTech F-51 Sealer Coat, applied at 14 mils, to provide a smooth surface for airflow. The client felt that the application exceeded expectations.
