Queens Village Station, LIRR - Lead Encasement
The Challenge
The exterior of the station was in need of a coating system over existing peeling lead based paint. The LIRR wanted a coating system that would waterproof the existing stucco, wood and steel, while providing a safe, long lasting coating system over the lead based paint.

The Solution
The encasement system was chosen for its long term durability and its excellent adhesion over existing coating systems. The rust inhibitive primer coated all of the steel, wood, and stucco surfaces. This was followed by two coats of the encasement sealer coat. This provided the LIRR with the waterproof lead safe system they wanted.
