NYC Parks Department - Riverside Park
The Challenge
The New York City Parks Department has several field house buildings along Riverside Park. The bluestone walkway on the roof of the building had deteriorated masonry joints and water was leaking into the building. The bluestone was removed and the City wanted a waterproof membrane placed on top of the concrete deck before the bluestone was replaced.

The Solution
The polyfiber cloth-reinforced FiberTech encasement system was chosen. The F-50 Penetrating Stabilizer Primer was applied to the entire surface of the concrete deck. Then, ECI reinforced polyfiber cloth was then applied over the primed surface. After the polyfiber cloth was put in place the cloth was coated with an additional coat of the F-50 Primer. After the Primer was dry, two coats of the F-51 Sealer Coat were applied. This provided the NYC Parks Department with a waterproof jacket over the concrete deck, so the bluestone could then be put back in place.
