35 buildings in Coop City had pipe insulation in the basement area of the building that was full of mold and was in disrepair. The ownership wanted to make the area safe for residents and wanted the mold problem eliminated and the insulation repaired and wanted a coating that would prevent the future growth of mold.

The Solution
Riverbay Corp. chose the FiberTech F-50MR Mold Resistant Primer and F-51MR Mold Resistant Sealer Coat for the pipe insulation coating repairs in 35 buildings. All of the insulation was first saturated with Benefect botanical disinfectant to kill the mold and allowed to dry. All of the loose insulation was reinforced with ECI's butyl seam tape. Each basement's pipe insulation was then coated with 1 coat of the FiberTech F50MR Mold Resistant Primer followed by two coats of Fibertech F-51MR Mold Resistant Sealer Coat.
